RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board of Governors was held last evening, there being present: Messrs B. Ball (chairman), E. R. Good, F. Horrell, .1. Marshall. W. Bell, -L Collie, G. I. Jen nings, and T. R. Cressrwell .(principal). Mr P. E. Callaghan, M.A., wrote, accepting Ihe position of assistant-mas-ter, and stating that he would enter on his new duti.es on June 1. The North Canterbury Education Board announced the reappointment of Mr 11. Boyd as its nominee on the board.
The question of increasing the salary of the caretaker of the Technical School was referred to a subcommittee., consisting of the chairman, treasurer, and .Mr Bell.
A modified scheme of procedure, in case of election of members of the board by parents of pupils, was received from the Education Department.
A report was received from Mr 11. Boyd on an inspection of the board's reserve near Stndholme Junction. The report vyas considered satisfactory, and a vote of thanks passed to Mr Boyd.
The secretary was directed to draft a letter to the Minister of Education, stating that Mr CressweTl was authorised to interview him in Wellington in connection with certain board matters.
The treasurer reported receipts for the month £7li 7/5, expenditure £2ll ::/K, credit balance ZS~) t/i). Accounts amounting to £IS 2/li were passed for payment.
