RANGIORA MARKET.
A GOOD SALE. Although the entry of fat sheep was on the small side at Rangiora today there was a particularly good sale, especially lor lambs. Rather more stores were penned than usual, and they were cleared under the hammer. Fat lambs sold exceptionally well. FAT SHEEP. Hardly more than half the usual number were on oiler, i\uv to harvest operations preventing growers sending sheep forward. Local butchers and buyers for export competed. The principal sales were:— On account T. Pulley, 10 wethers 21/-; R. Bailey, 13 ewes 21/3; S. Teague, 4 wethers 21/3; client, 73 ewes 13/1; Jas. Stewart, 4 ewes 21/3; 1). Morris, 7 ewes 17/-; T. Hamley, 1) ewes 18/!); client, 20 merino ewes ID/3. FAT LAMBS. Though the entry of fat lambs was hardly up to some sales of the past few weeks there was a good lot forward, and from a quality standpoint they were an improvement. Competition was very keen for good lambs. The principal sales were:— On account I. Croft, 201 22/-; T. Pulley, 38 19/8; Jas. Stewart 73 21/-; T.

The greater pisri of the store sheep were lambs of fairly good quality. Willi the exception of a line of forward wethers, the whole of the entry sold under the hammer. A pen or two of fairly soiind-inoulhed ewes sold well. The principal sales were: 160 lambs 12/4, 121 13/4, 116 0/6, 58 halfbral lambs 12/ li, 184 half bred s.m. ewes 12/-, 164 aged ewes 0/2, 185 four-tooth halfbrcd wethers 12/0 lo 12/11, 41 two-tooth wethers 11/10, 121 two-tooth halfbred wethers 11/(» to 11/8, 20 cull ewes 7/'-. PIGS. There was a small entry of pigs, and the demand was moderate for fat stuff, and poor for stores. Values were:— Choppers. 45/- to 50/-. Raconers, 57/- to 71/Kxlra heavy, to 80/-.
