LYTTELTON AFFAIRS.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Fortnightly meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council was held last night, there being present: The Mayor (Mr W. Rudcliflc), Crs T. Hempstalk, J. R. Webb, K. J. Pago, M. J. Miller, YV. T. Foster, E. R. Isaacs, W. W. Toy, and J. T. Norton. ESTATES COMMITTEE. In connection with the cottage at Corsair Bay, the Estates Committee reported having inspected it, and recommended that repairs and improvements he carried out in accordance with the borough engineer's reports, provided that the tenant would agree to pay the additional rent of ;>/- per week, making J a total annual rental of \l'M). The estimate of the proposed repairs is £(< B. The report was adopted. CORRESPONDENCE. A Idler was received from A. J. Vidulich, complaining about the state of Jackson's Road, and declining to pay rates until such limes as the road is put in good repair. On the motion of Cr Poster, the matter' was referred lo the engineer to look into, and carry out any work required. FINANCIAL STATEMENT. The financial statement showed the Temporary Loans Account in debit 1:12,1 m (i/7, and the District] Fund Account in credit £873 1/3.1 Accounts amounting lo I'lll) 5/51 were passed for payment.
