DRASTIC PUNISHMENT PROPOSED FOR DISLOCATION OF TRADE. B% Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Received February 1, 9.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 1. Ministers are discussing the seriousness of war time strikes, and an Industrial War Council has been suggested, to be composed of Federal and State Ministers and representatives from the Chamber of Manufacturers and Trades Hall Council. It is thought that the proposed body could effectively deal with industrial troubles. The Hon. F. W. Hagelthorn,' speaking at the Australian Natives Association luncheon, said that a mandate must be obtained from the people to intern men, whether' employers or employees, who caused a dislocation of the industrial machinery during the war. General McCay appealed as follows, on behalf of the soldiers:—"Whatever differences or difficulties exist, for God's sake Jet them stand over till the war has ceased."
