COUNTY COUNCIL.
WAIPARA. A meeting of the Waipara County Council was held at Waikari on Saturday, there being present Messrs R. Evans (chairman), U. Rutherford, If. 11. Holland. N. D. Campbell, T. E. L. Roberts, and W. W. Mc.Rae. Cr Rutherford was elected to represent the council at a meeting of local , bodies, to be held at Rangiora on February 1 for the purpose of electing a representative on the executive of the Poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium Fund. Correspondence was received from j |Dalgety and Co. enclosing a cheque for £2l 4/-, proceeds of a bale of wool: S dona led to the Counties*' Patriotic fund | [ by Mr G. Rutherford. Mr .1. Smellie wrote re the state of the HuruiHii-Bluff Road, also stating| that Messrs Pyne and Co. had sold a 1 bale of his wool for the Patriotic Fund, ! the proceeds being £lB 11/-. The clerk reported that the Patriotic ; fund now stood at £l2O 7/-. I The Under Secretary for Internal Affairs wrote stating that the motor regis|t ration letters for the county would be | WI'R. It was decided to invite application for the position of poumlkeeper.
