RUSSIA AND RUMANIA. ACTIVE CO OPERATION NOT NOW SO IMPORTANT. (Received January 5, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON, January 4. The ''Chronicle's'' Petrograd correspondent states that Russia accepts the view that Rumania is not in a position 1o undertake a long war. Russia is satisfied with Rumanian sentiment, and her policy overwhelmingly favours the Entente. The importance of active Rumanian eo-operation is diminishing with the improving Balkan situation.
