FIRES.
Two small fires occurred in the city on Saturday, the brigade being called out at 1.43 p.m. to 17 Ollivicr's Road, where a fire had started in a lean-to shed. A quantity of timber was burned, and a stable oil an adjoining section was damaged. At 10.37 p.m. a call was received from Holmes's boarding-house in Manchester Street. A fire had broken out in a linen cupboard, but was practically extinguished when the brigade arrived.
