LATE SHIPPING.
* Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 120. Sailed -Makura, for Vancouver. To Sail—-Taraweru (2 p.m.), for southern ports. Passenger for Lyttelton: Mr Martin. The Chatham,lslands steamer Hlmitangi left the Islands at 5 p.m. yesterday with a load of wool and other cargo, and is due here on Thursday night. After discharging the vessel will return to the Islands. The Huddart-Parker steamer Westralia left Melbourne yesterday for Dunedin. On arrival at that port the vessel will relieve the Paloona in the East Coast service. The Westralia is due here on Saturday next, and sails in the evening for Auckland, via East Coast ports. The Paloona will remain at Dunedin until Tuesday next, when she will leave. Dunedin for Lyttelton, thence on to East Coast ports and Auckland, in place of the Tarawera, which will be withdrawn from the service.
The Union Company's Manuka, which arrived at Wellington last evening from Hohart and Sydney, brought transhipments ex steamers Wodonga, Mataram, and Totoni Maru, the following being the principal lines: —10 boxes tinned cheese, .'$ reels paper, 9 cases toys, 2 cases leather goods, 08 cases strawboards, M cases slates, 10 cases tumblers, 6 cases glassware, !) bales mats, 9 bales matting, 15 bales rugs, it rolls rugs, 5 cases brushes, 9 cases curios, It cases porcelain, 2 cases shot, 200 case* soap, 3'M pieces hubs, 22 sacks rice, 7 eases tools, « cases effects, I rolls linoleum, 1 cases sundries, 11 cases sulphuric acid, 2 cases ether, il cases electric goods, ;»7 slabs marble, 1200 sacks manure, J2 bundles leather goods, 15 cylinders C 0.2, 00 crates bottles, 1 cases sewing machines, 2!) drums caustic soda, I! cases medicine, 1 hags piments, 10 cases emulsion, ;i cases merchandise, 8 crates medicine, 18 cases tin plates, 2 trusses leather, <1 casks drugs, 9 packages tyres, 8 bundles fruit, IMO bundles palings, 100 hags bottles, VM felloe:;, 2098 pieces timber, and a large quantity of sundries. The vessel is due at Lyttelton to-morrow morning, and sails in the evening for Sydney and Hobart, via Wellington. The It.M.S. Maitai, due at Wellington on Thursday from San Francisco, via Papeete and Ratotonga, will, in consequence of the fitting up of the Marama as a hospital ship, not proceed to Sydney as usual, but will make Wellington her terminal port. After
discharging her cargo the Maitai will come on to Lyttelton in order to go into dock. She will return to Wellington in time to sail on December 9 on the return journey to San Francisco. Some time ago it was announced that the Union Company was arranging to place on the loading berth a number of steamers in order to faciliaatc the dispatch of wool L: America. It is now stated that one of the ships is to be the Kauri, which is to load a full cargo of wool about the middle of December. The Kauri is expected to leave Newcastle some time this week with a full cargo of coal for Lyttelton. NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING CO.'S LINE. The Ruapehu leaves Port Chalmers to morrow for Bluff, Wellington, and Auckland. The steamer leaves the last-mentioned port on December 15 for London; The Rimutaka, Homeward-bound, left Tencriffe on the 21th inst. The Remuera, from London, is to leave Hobart at 6 a.m. to-morrow for Auckland.
