MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court this morning. MAINTENANCE. Charles Frank Th&mas was proceeded against by his wife, who applied for maintenance, separation, and guardianship. The accused was ordered to pay 30/- a week, and an ofder was made granting separation, and the custody of four children to the wife. ALLEGED THEFT. Michael Finucane was charged that, on November 21, at Teviotdale, he stole the sum of £lO, the property of G. D. Greenwood. Accused was remanded, to appear at Amberley on December 8. Bail-was allowed —accused in £SO, and one surety of £SO.

LYTTELTON. (Before Captain R. Hatchwell, J.P.) Two first offenders for drunkenness were convicted and discharged. Samuel John Martyn was charged with that, on November 23, at Southbrook, he' entered the premises of his wife during the currency of a separation order. He was remanded, to appear on December 7.
