Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 29. Arrived—ltia Ora, from London. ' NOTES. Owing to having been delayed on her southward running, due to bad weather in the north, the Union Company's Monowai arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Dunedin, and will sail this afternoon for Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. A Press Association cable message from Melbourne states that the sailing of the Westralia for New Zealand was delayed until yesterday, owing to the firemen striking for increased wages. They ultimately accepted the ruling rates. The Westralia is carrying an English mail. The N.Z. Shipping Company's steamer Remuera should reach Auckland on Monday, December 6. She is due at Wellington about five days later, and at Lyttelton about December 17. The steamer Inga arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Clarence River, after a"n uneventful passage of nine days. The vessql has a full cargo of about 500,000 ft to discharge at this port, - and will sail about Tuesday next for Kaipara, where she will load timber for" Australia. Captain J. Rawlings. ■, Having lqft Sydney on Thursday evening, the Union Company's Manuka is "due at Wellington tq-day with 66 saloon and 99 steerage passengers and about 1000 tons of cargo. The vessel is due here oh' Wednesday mortiiiig, and sails in the evening for Sydney and Hobart, via Wellington.

A Press Association message received from Victoria (British Columbia), states, that the Chilian ship, Carelmapu has gone ashore in heavy weather on Vancouver Island, with the loss of the whole of the crew. The Carelmapu was a fine oJUI ship, one of the old-timers, and was for many yeairs sailing under the Hed Ensign. She was then named the Kinross, and 12 years ago was owned by Mr R. P. Rithet, of Liverpool. She was an iron ship of 1447 tons gross, with the following dimensions:—Length 242 ft, breadth 37ft, • and depth 22ft. She was built by Messrs W. H. Potter and Sons, Liverpool, in 1877. The Carelmapu was bound toPuget Sound to load timber for Melbourne on; what proved to be her fateful passage. . ■> 1
The. coasting steamer Opouri will make a call at Wellington, this week on the passage from Greymouth to Lyttelton, to discharge part-cargo of timber*. The vessel is due here on Friday next, and sails on Saturday on the return trip to Grieymouth. It is expected that the Union Company's cargo steamer Wairuna will reach Wellington from San Francisco on December, 2, instead of the, sth. The .vessel, which has 3184 tons, of cargo,. including 20,000 cases of oil for discharge at that port, reached Suva on Friday. Mr H. Donald, late of the Paloona, has signed oh the MOeraki as third officer, in place of Mr Robertson, who left the vessel at Sydney. Mr W. Spargo has joined the Mocraki as second engineer, in place of Mr W. Naismith, who lias gone south for orders.
