NEW ZEALANDERS AT GALLIPOLI. MESSAGE THROUGH LORD KITCHENER. Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 29 Colonel Rhodes, in a communication to the Hon. James Allen from Alexandria, states that, at Anza.c, Lord Kitchener gave, him'the following message from the King for transmission to New Zealand:— His Majesty* the King desires me to express his appreciation ' of the bravery displayed by the New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, and to say that "he was proud of 'their achievements; that they had Qtade & name for themselves in history, and that their deeds shall never be forgotten. Colonel states -that he visited the New Zealand infantry in ihe trenches, and the mounted men
at Bauchop's Hill. They are well, and in good spirits, and greatly improved by their rest at Lemnos. H.M.S. PHILOMEL. A LIEUTENANT DECORATED. • Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 29. A message,from Commander Hall Thompson, of H.M.S. Philomel, communicates that Lieut. Fitzadam Millar has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for service ashore.
