CATHOLIC RED CROSS SOCIETY.

During the week,a meeting was held at the Catholic Girls' Hostel, in Cranmer Square, with the object of forming a Catholic Red Cross Society. It goes without saying that many members of; that faith have already done much good work with other; units, but it was felt that more could.be done if. a purely Catholic organisation were formed. The meeting was well' attended, about .50 ladies being present. .All agreed in favour of the project, and the following executive officials were appointed:— Patroness, Lady Clifford;- president, Mrs J. C. Palmer; vice-ptesident, Mrs J. S. Barrett; hon. secretary and treasurer,, Mrs P. Herbert. 'Plans for starting work are .well under way, and the first meeting is to be held in the Catholic Young; Men's Club on Tuesday. It'is intended to. shortly, give various socials, and perhaps, entertainments, to help the fund for materials.
