KING'S ASSURANCE TO LORD KITCHENER
BRITISH CRUISER UNITED STATES COLLIER .■'/•' . To-day's cables announce that King Constantine has • assured Lord Kitchener that the Allies will not be attacked :, by Greece. The basis for a satisfactory settlement is said to have been reached. The Allies, it is stated, have declared a pacific blockade of Grecian ports. Details are to hand of a serious Bulgarian reverse, which nearly developed into a disorderly retreat. A British cruiser has seized an American collier at the West Indies, suspecting part German ownership. It is reported that Italy is about to declare war upon Germany. The Germans on the western front are said to be preparing for a big attack in order to prevent reinforcements from being sent to the Balkans.
