LODGE MEETINGS.
IVY OF LINWOOD LODGE. The usual meeting of the Ivy of Linwood Lodge, No. 13, U.A.0.D., was held in the Orange Hall, AJD. Bro. Lawrence in the chair. The sum of £5 was passed for sick pay. After the ordinary business of the evening a debate took place, the subject being, • '' Should Friendly Societies employ their own Doctors?' 7 The question, which was discussed by visiting members of other lodges and societies, was debated with keen enthusiasm, and very useful information wa| brought to light. On a division being taken, after the question had been thoroughly discussed, the negative side was declared the wiuner.
LOYAL WAIMAIRI. The Loyal Waimairi Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., held its usual fortnightly meeting in St. Barnabus Hall, Fendaltou. The N.G., Bro. Geo. Green, Prov. D.G.M., presided. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. The sick stewards deported 110 sickness. A letter was received from the vestry granting the hire of hall for meetings for 12 months. The secretary gave a paper 011 the duties of trustees and other officers, which was interesting, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It wa,s decided to hold a quoit match after business next Lodge Refreshments were provided, by two members, and were much appreciated. ••
