RANGIORA MARKET.
I SMALL ENTRY OF SHEEP. I There was again a very small yarding - 'of sheep to-day at the Rangiora markets. In the other departments the offerings were about the usual numbers. . % FAT SHEEP. The lines sold were, for the most part, small lots, of mixed description, and they met with a ready demand from the ■-.„ local butchers. Sales were:—On account Shepherd Bros., wethers to v 29/-, ewes to 27/-; D. Stalker (Woodend), 3 ewes 34/-; J. C. Bayley (Fernside), 6 ewes 30/-; W. Forrest (Rangiora), 10 ewes 27/1; S. W. Buhner (Waikuku), 12 hoggets 20/1; J. W. Foster, 12 shorn ewes 17/9; Ryan Bros. (Rangiora), 18 shorn, wethers 21/3, 4 ewes 29/-; W. Rodg'ers (Fernside), ewes to 30/3, hoggets to. 22/6. . STORE SHEEP. The entry of store sheep was confined to some six or seven lines, mostly ewes -. with lambs at foot. The demand was i quite free, and sales were easily made at values equal to last week's Addington - prices. Sales were:—4o two-tooth shorn wethers 15/3, 49 four-tooth ewes and f *SO lambs 16/- (all counted), 91 small . woolly hoggets 17/-, 15 aged ewes and . 15 lambs 11/7 (all counted), 20 shorn hoggets 14/5, 49 sound ; mouth ewes and i 50 lambs 15/6 (all counted). PIGS. A good yarding of pigs was offered, but the bulk, consisted of stores. Fat pigs sold at late rates, and stores were in equally good demand. Values were: Light baconers 60A to 68/-, heavy .. baeoners 70/- to 75/- (average per lb 6d), light porkers 36/- to 40/-, heavy, porkers 42/- to 48/-, large stores 25/to 33/-, good weaners 12/-. to. 18/-, extra good weaners to 21/-.
