OFF TO CAMP.

THE NINTH REINFORCEMENTS. THREE QUOTAS LEAVE. Just over 300 men for the Ninth Reinforcements left jChristchurch for Trejithani last evening, There, were J4| from South Canterbury, 77 from Ashburton, 87 from North Canterbury, and four details for the Army Service Corps from Christchurch." These districts provided a lesson in recruiting to the - city; for their quotas were full. In Waihiatc • alone there are 15 men left Over from the quota, and they are waiting to go into the Tenth Reinforcements. The North Canterbury men paraded at King Edward Barracks, where they were briefly addressed by Colonel R. A. Chaffey, VJ>., Officer Commanding the Canterbury Military District, who commented on the fact that every time North Canterbury had been asked for men for the front it had provided its full quota. He hoped that they would set an example to those who had not yet volunteered to go. The men, headed by the Ist (Canterbury) ' Regimental Band, then marched, in high spirits, to the central railway station, where they joined the special train which had

brought the South Canterbury and Ashburton quotas. The detachments welcomed each other delightedly.
