SHIPPING NOTES.
The R.M r S. Niagara, which is due at Auckland on October 18, from Vancouver, via way ports* is'bringing 227 passengers and 1100 tons of cargo. The coasting steamer Opouri has been delayed at Timaru, and will not arrive at Lyttelton until to-morrow, Jo, discharge a part-cargo of timber from Grcymouth. The vessel will sail on Monday for Grcymouth, with general cargo. \ / The steamer Moura, which was purchased a few days ago from the Union Company by Messrs Lqne. and Dawson, Sydney," on behalf of Eastern buyers, left Auckland last night for Newcastle, where; she will load coal for the Philippine Islands. Captain Selmes, who navigated : the well-known steamer Brisbane to tlic Far East, and who
has just returned, is in command of the Moura. The Union Company's Moeraki left Sydney at 3 p.m. on Thursday last for Wellington, and is due there on Monday. The vessel is due at Lyttelton on Wednesday,' and sails in the evening for Sydney and Hobart, via Wellington. The Union Company's Kittawa, which is due at Lyttelton late to-night from Greymouth, with a full cargo of coal, will sail about Tuesday next for Westport and Greymouth. The Union Company's Kini arrived at Lyttelton to-day from Greymouth, via Timaru, with a part-cargo of timber. The vessel will leave on the return trip to the West Coast on jVJonday. The Union Company's Poherua arrived at Lyttelton this morning from Greymouth, with a full cargo of coal. The vessel sails again on Monday for Westport and Greymouth. The Union Company's Kauri arrived at Newcastle yesterday from Lyttelton. The vessel will load a further consignment of coal for this port, and will leave there about Monday next. The Union Company's Karamu was to have left Westport last night with a full load of coal for Lyttelton, and Is due here to-niorrow. The U.S. and A. steamer Karema arrived at Lyttelton to-day from Wellington to discharge part original cargo from New York. The vessel will sail about-Tuesday for Dunedin, subsequently proceeding to Adelaide for completion of discharge. Captain G. Lambert has taken command of the Koniata, relieving Captain T. C. Hill, who has gone south for instructions.
