NEW ZEALAND WOUNDED.
THE NUMBER IN ENGLAND. OTAGO OFFICER'S FUNERAL. (Received September 29, 2.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 28. New Zealand wounded in Britain number 2741, and they are distributed in hospitals from Plymouth to Dundee. The Hon. T. Mackenzie is seeking to arrange with the War Office to concentrate the wounded men as much as possible in the metropolitan area. Mr Mackenzie is now in Scotland, visiting the wounded. There are 150 at the base hospital at Plymouth, where Colonel Plugge is assisting Sir Newton Moor. Captain Wilkinson, of Olago, the first New Zealand officer to die in London, has been buried at Wandsworth. Colonel Plugge and New Zealand officers were present, and Mr T. F. Donne represented Mr Mackenzie. The coffin was carried on a gun carriage, and the grave was linecl with purple flowers. The "Last Post" was sounded.
