FIGHTING ON THE HEIGHTS. ROME, September 26. An oflicial communique states: "We captured Sulden-Spitz, 3376 metres (11,076 ft high), after three night marches, although it was strongly heldr "The enemy on the 24th attempted a coup-de-main with large forces in the Cividale zone. We counter-at-tacked and repulsed them. Three enemy attacks on the whole front, from Coliccolo to Avostanis Peak, were also defeated." [Sulden-Spitz, one of the highest peaks in the Western Tyrol, is in the range of the Ty.rolese Alps, south of the Stelvio Pass. Sulden-Spitz, which overlooks the Sultlen Valley, to the westward of Trent, is exceeded in height only by Ortler-Spitz, 12,850 ft, and Morite Adamello, 11,055 ft, and a peaks.]
