WANTED FOR TROOPS. TO BE SENT ON. [From our own Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, July 0. The Minister of Defence has received a cablegram from the Home authorities, directing him to ship respirators, as proposed, and convey to the ladies who have kindly done the work the thanks of the Army Council, Sufficient supplies "have been received,,and instructions as to their disposal will be sent to Port Said. This telegram refers to the respirators made chiefly, by Christchurch ladies, which the. Miniser of Defence recently staled would not be required. Later communications with the War Office have shown that they are needed, pointing to the probability of the Turks' intended use of gas.
