LIEUTENANT A. T. G. RHODES. Mr A. E. G. Rhodes has received a cablegram from his son, Lieutenant A. T. G. Rhodes, aide-de-camp to Major-General Sir Alexander Godley, stating that he (Lieutenant Rhodes) had been invalided and had spent a week in hospital in Alexandria. He is now well and is returning to the Dardanelles. CORPORAL M. P. JONES. A cablegram to his brother states that Corporal Mostyn P. Jones, of Christchurch, who was seriously wounded a few days after the landing at the Dardanelles, is now getting better, and is being sent from Alexandria to England. 'LANCE-CORPORAL H. J. KNIGHT. Writing from Alexandria, on May j 15, to his parents, Lance-Corporal |H. J. Knight, of Methvcn, stated that he had a bullet-wound in one of his forearms, and a portion of the bone had been removed. The bullet had lodged in the bone, and it hod been located under the Rontr gen rays, but the surgeons had not been able to remove it. Since then, Lance-Corporal Knight has been sent to England, and a cablegram from Manchester states that he is now progressing favourably. PRIVATE P. J. GRAHAM. . Private Percy John Graham, who was wounded on June 18, and who was in the Canterbury Infantry Battalion, went with the Second Reinforcements. He was a labourer by occupation. His next of kin is his brother, Mr T. Graham, of York Street, Timaru. PRIVATE D. E. CURRIE. Private Donald Eric Gtirrie, of the Field Ambulance, who has been wounded, is a son of* Mr Archibald Curri<\ of 190 Hackthorne Pcad, Cashmere Hills, and is about 24 ye*ars old. He was educated at the Christchurch Boys' High School. A brother, T. E. Currie, is in the Canterbury Mounted Rifles Regiment. NOT KILLEDT BUT SICK. An example of the difficulty with which the casualty lists at the Dardanelles are prepared, is furnished by the experience of some Christchurch people. On May 24 it was announced that Sapper Alfred Allen had been killed in action on May j9, and that he was the eldest son of Mr Alfred Allen, of No 69 Liiwood Avenue. Of course, his re-' latives experienced much grief. Allen had enlisted in the Canterbury Infantry Battalion of the Main Force, but it was presumed that he had been transferred to the Engineers on account of his knowledge of carpentry. About a month after the notification of his death, however, information was given that Allen, still described as a sapper, had not been. killed, but wounded, and that he had been sent to Malta. And now his relatives have been informed that, Private Allen—designated correctly this time -is sutlering from measles, and that he is in the Netley Hospital, England. PRIVATE W. H. LODGE. Private William Henry Lodge (reported wounded) is the third son of Mrs E. Lodge, Matheson's Road, Linwood. He is 20 years of age, and was educated at West Christchurch School. He was in the employ of the Gas Company for five years prior to his departure for the front. | He is one of four sons now serving at the front. Two have been wounded, one is missing, and the fourth is ' uninjured. CORPORAL CLAUDE STREET. Corporal Claude Street, of the Wellington Battalion, who is reported wounded for the second time, is the third son of Mr Henry Street, Sumner. He is aged 24, and was educated in Taranaki. He enlisted with the Main Expeditionary Force at Hawera, where he was employed as a joiner. He was a prominent member of the football and cricket clubs there, and was a well-known athlete. The news that he had been wounded a second time was the first intimation that his parents received that he had recovered from his original injuries. SAPPER M. A. STRONG. Sapper Martin Alexander Strong, New Zealand Field Engineers, who was wounded on June 26, is 44 years old. He was born in Rangiora, and was educated at the Borough School | there. He was a carpenter, having served his apprenticeship with J. Withers and Son, Southbrook. Latterly, he was engaged as a builder, in partnership with a brother in Wellington. He was an enthusiastic worker in the Methodist Church. His mother, Mrs B. J. Strong, and his sister, Mrs F. B. Lane, reside in King Street, Rangiora.
