SHIPPING SPACE. The meeting to-day carried a resolution requesting tlic Government to point out to the Imperial authorities the urgent need for more ships, and asking that prompt action he taken to utilise enemy vessels now interned. Messrs Gibson, E. \Y. Relpli, L. C. Gardiner, and George Gardner were appointed to make further enquiries. WAR SPECIAL. MORE VESSELS SUNK. LONDON, July 4. A submarine sank the steamers Renfrew, in ballast, and the Larchmore, coal laden, bound for Bombay. The crews landed at Plymouth; Both made gallant attempts to escape, and were peppered with shells before they stopped. The Larcliniore's engine room was wrecked, the donkeyman being killed and another man wounded. PETROGRAD, July 4. - The crew of the transport Ycmessei, •which was torpedoed early in June in the Gulf ol' Riga, behaved with great calmness. Captain ProkliorolY, with a midshipman, remained 011 the bridge to the eiul, encouraging the men, who sang the National Anthem, and cheered as the vessel sank. AN INVENTION BOARD. LONDON, July 4. Lord Fisher has been appointed chairman of the Invention Board assisting the Admiralty to co-ordinate and encourage, scicntilic ell'ort in relation to the requirements of the naval service.
