Mr. H. Williams drew attention to what he considered the excessive rental charged by the City Council for the Addington Club's playing ground. It was rea.olved that the secretary and Mr Williams should go into the matter.

All matches for next Saturday are cancelled, on account of the assttult-at-arms to be held at the Show Grounds. This was carried with one dissentient.

The chairman opened a discussion on the proposal that Sports clubs should join the Citizens' Defence Corps. He stated that he thought the matter should be brought before the various clubs.

Mr Williams gave it as his opinion that it was not necessary to refer the matter to the clubs, as he was sure that their patriotism could be taken for granted, and that many players would be prepared to join the Citizens' Defence Corps. Mr Boyns said that the matter of joining the corps should certainly be brought under their notice before the centre pledged itself to any scheme. It was resolved that the matter be referred to the clubs.

It A\*as agreed, after some discussion, that the League benefit, to be held in the near future, should be in aid of the disabled soldiers.

The chairman reported that the committee set up to enquire into the. rules had not as yet done any work. He wished to resign from the committee, owing to pressure of 'business. The resignation was accepted, and Mr M.oyle was elected to till the vacancy. Mr Boyns was added to the committee.

A vote of condolence with the relatives of the late I). Bartlett, who died at the Trentham camp, was passed. The late soldier had been a member of the Federal Club.
