GIANT AIRCRAFT CRASHES TO THE GROUND SUBMARINES STILL ACTIVE FRENCH MINE-LAYER BLOWN UP IN /EGEAN STORIES OF TURKISH ATROCITIES DISPROVED A thrilling story is told of the exploit of an English, naval airman. At 3 am. yesterday, at a height of 6000 feet, he dropped six bombs on a Zeppelin, which exploded and crashed to the ground.' The explosion turned the airman inside down, but he righted his machine and escaped. Four more British steamers have been sunk by submarines. The French mine-layer Casabianca was sunk by a mine in tfee-JEgean Sea. : J There has been another Zeppelin raid on England, four people being killed and 40 injured. A message from Captain Bean states that the Australasian soldiers' stories of Turkish atrocities are untrue. The first big battle of the war between Italy and Austria is raging.
