THE CONCLUDING DAY'S SPORT

Favoured with fine weather, there was a record attendance present on the concluding day of the New Brighton Trotting Club's Meeting, and a most enjoyablo afternoon's racing was witnessed. Speculation was particularly brisk, the sum of ±'20,832 being passed through the totalisator, as against £16,373 on the corresponding day last ;ear. This made a grand total of £35,445, as against £29,570 at the lr<st Autumn Meeting. Fleming) 0 After two ineffectual starts the quartet got away in good line, except that Imperial Perfection lost several lengths by breaking. Granger showed the way. to tlio stand, where he was joined by Imperial Perfection, with the favourite three lengths away third. A j little further on Imperial Perfection drew well clear, and once into the back straight Prince Akwood passed Granger. Imperial Perfection held his advantage till turning into the home straight, Ayhere Prince Akwood closed on him and, quickly having liis measure, won comfortably by two lengths. From this out the leader hud matters all her own way, and won pulling up by four lengths from Moutain Rose, who beat Our Aggio by a length. Princo Poole was fourth and Lady Thecldn fifth. The leader easily maintained his advantage to the finish, and won by 40 yards. Four lengths away in third place came Benmore, followed by Lord Roanehild and Elkton Hall. Time, 4min 55 2-ssec. Dick B. started smartly, and showed the way past Mace's from First Alarm, Lincoln Junr., .and Jack Ashore. Soon r.ftor passing the half-mile po.st Lincoln Junr. took charge, and was first into the straight, followed l>y First Alarm, Jack Ashore, and Barmaguie. Within the distance Jack Ashore had the loaders' measure, raid won by two lengths from First Alarm, with Lincoln Junr. a longth away third, followed by Sherwood. Jack Ashore was disqualified for starting before his bell. Time, 2ini» 19 l-ssec.
