PAYING THE PIPER.

ELECTORAL LITIGATION. THE AFTERMATH. Preat Association. WELLINGTON, April 20. In the Election Court to-day Mr 11. M. Campbell's petition against Dr McNab's return for Ilawke's Bay was again mentioned. Mr C. P. Skerrett, for the petitioner, said it was not intended to proceed any further. The only question now was one of costs. Sir John Findlay urged the court to fix the costs as if £IOOO had been claimed. Mr Skerrett argued that this was excessive;- the basis should be as on a claim for £5Ol. The court will give its decision tomorrow.
