Professor Park went north last evening. Mr G. Y. Pearce, M.P. for Patea, [ left for Wellington last night. Mr D. Bushman, of Hanmer, is staying at Warner's Hotel. He arrived in Christchureh yesterday. Mr William Belcher, of Dunedin, has resigned his appointment as a Justice of the Peace. Mr A. W. Rutherford Avas a passenger'for Wellington by last night's ferry steamer. Mr C. E. Calder, of Timaru, arrived in Christchureh last evening, and is staying at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr E. P. Lee, M.P., arrived from Oamaru by the second express last evening, and Avent on to Wellington. Mr L. M. Isitt, M.P., left for Wellington last night to attend the annual conA T ention of the New Zealand Alliance.
Mr Motosaku Tsuchiya, the Japanese journalist, Avho has been spending a few days in Christchureh, left for Wellington last evening. On Thursday he will leave for Australia, where he will spend tAVo months before leaving on his return to Japan. Mr 11. W. Lane, son of Mr 11. C. Lane, secretary of the North Canterbury Education Board, in a letter to his father, states that he left South America early in the year, and joined the Inns of Court Officers' Training Corps. Mr Lane had been engaged in railway construction Avork in South America for some time.
Mr J. T. Martin, Christchureh manager of Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., has received news that his brother, Dr A. A. Martin, of Palnierston North, who has been recuperating in Switzerland, is on his way to join the Ncav Zealand Forces in the East. I)r Martin, avlio accepted a commission as lieutenant in the Royal Atony Medical Corps at the outbreak of the Avar, holds a commission as major in the N.Z.M.C.
