PLUMBERS' SOCIAL.
A complimentary social was given by the Christchurch Plumbers' and' Gasfitters' Union to the visiting delegates at conference at Freeman's, on Tuesday evening last, Mr C. A. Eldridgc occupying the chair. The following was the toast list: "The King," proposod' by the chairman; "Visiting Delegates," proposed by Mr C. N. Watson, and responded to by Messrs J. Clark (Auckland), H. Thompson (Wellington), F. Jlarrige (Duuodin), and H. Sanderson (Taranaki); "The Christchurch Union," proposed by Mr J. Clark, and responded to by Mr H. James; "The Executive Council,'' proposed by Mr 11. Thompsou, and responded to by Mr C. A. Eldridgc; "The Trades and Labour Council," proposed by Mr J. Parry, and responded to by Messrs E. Woodham and P. Sullivan; "The Ladies," proposed by Mr L. A. 11. Gogol, and responded to by Mr C. Row; "The Chairman," proposed by Mr W. G. Rogers. The following contributed songs: Messrs 11. Edwards, C. Rew, C. 11. Tidy, C. A. Eldridgc, 11. .lames, and II Sharp. MiNathan played the accompaniments
