"The TimesV military correspondent* says:— Since the collapse of the Austi'O-German offensive on , the East front the German high command has clearly been puzzled, and has almost forgotten, to announce imaginary military victories. War councils everywhere are discussing countless war plans. Germany -has a clear inferiority of 1,000,000 men on the West front, with an inferiority of reserves. There is a similar position on the East front', without counting all those gentle neutrals who are eager to assist the conqueror. The early German preponderance which enabled the invasion of armed nations has disappeared, and the balance of fighting power is inclining more and more against the Germans. \ They could not conquer .when they possessed a superiority Jn numbers, and now how can they win ?
