AMERICAN SHIP LOST. SEVENTY-ONE OF CXEW RESCUED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. (Received March 25, 1.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 24. The American steamer Denver, returning from Bremerhaven, sank in mid-ocean. The Atlantic transport lioer Manhattan rescued 71 of her crew. [The Denver was a steel screw steamer of 4549 tons, built in 1901 for the Mallory Steamship Company. The port of registry was Now York. She was a wellappointed vessel and had a wireless installation. The Manhattan, which came to the rescue of the sinking vessel, is a ship of 3539 tons, built in 1913 by the same firm who constructed the ill-fated Denver.]
