WELLINGTON RACES. Pr ess Association. TRENTHAM, January 22. The weather was wet and boisterous for tlie second day of the Wellington Racing Club's Summer Meeting. The attendance was not so large as usual. The course was in good condition. Results: — MUNGAROA WELTER, of 150 sovs. Seven furlongs. Prince Laddo 9.1 1 Jem 10.9 2 Bonny Rigg 9.6 3 All started. Jem came through in the straight and was challenged by Prince Laddo. After a great set-to the latter won l>y a neck. Time, limn 31 4-ssec. JANUARY WELTER, 0f.250 sovs. One mile. Scratched: Killaloo. The field was evenly dispatched ajid was headed by Mount Victoria, with Crown Pearl lying second. In the straight Crown Pearl overhauled the leader, hut Briar Patch came through fast and won by a neck, three lengths being between second and third. Time, lmin 42 4-ssec. WELLINGTON STAKES, of 750 sovs. Five furlongs. Flying Start 6.10 1 Gold Foil 6.12 2 Hyinettius 8.6 . . ... . . 3 Scratched: Legal Tender and Dribble. The track was very slippery, and at the bend Bimeter, Dinner Gong, and Rangitero fell, * and Sutala ran off.
