Both grass and sand tracks are now open, but the bulk of the horses were restricted to steady pacing. Banksia spurted three furlongs on the middle grass in 37 2-ssec. Sutala did the same distance. Wishful was better than Mountain Dream over three furlongs in 40scc. Marshal Macdonald did'two rounds on the inside grass, with the assistance at intervals of Campeador and Balboa. The last round occupied lmin 48 4-ssec. The Cup horse finished well. Beldame did four furlongs on the inside grass in 54scc. Postillion did the last three of four furlongs on the same track in **7 sec. ■ Fashion Plate, St. Elmn, and Hereford arrived on Saturday.
