The Mayor, stated -this morning that the executive of the . Huutly Belief Fund intend to close the fund on December 31, and desires that all who have lists or .accounts against the fund should send them in without delay. The Mayor also wishes to thank the citizens, and committee who have worked so energetically. It is expected that the sum available locally will amount to £IOOO. The following additional donations towards the fund have been received:— Per Christchurch Press Co. £6O 0/3, members of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Women and Children 10/-. The total of the local fund now stands at £857 7/10.
