The Shaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Mamari, which has replaced the Athenic in the London-Wellington-Lyttelton service for a trip or two arrived at Lyttelton this morning. She will complete discharge here, and commence Homeward loading, . leaving on Monday next for Timaru, Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, and Wellington. Final departure for Home from the last-men,tioned port will be taken on January 4. A fracas occurred fin board the schooner Winslow at Dunedin on Monday, when Augustus Rose, a, seaman, is alleged to have attempted to stab the chief officer with his pocket knife, but otherwise did no damage. Rose was arrested on a charge of assault. Mr E. V. Plummer, assistant purser if, the Wahine, has received instructions to join the Manuka at Wellington to-morrow, succeeding Mr R-v ■ IC. Duckwortlj. Mr D. W. Rosie, purser ,o| the Monowai, will transfer from the Monowai to the Maori to-morrow, and Mr W. KScNair Spiers, purser of the Tarawera, will' succeed him. Captain H. 3'latts will resume command of the Kini at Lyttelton to-day. Cable advices state that the C. and D. Line's steamer Star of Australia, which arrived at London from New Zealand ports on November 27, will be dispatched from the Home port • on December 24 for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports.

Another of the vessels recently announced to have been chartered by the A. and A. Lino to load cargo in New York, the Westward Ho, is due at Auckland on Tuesday next. Like the Purley, the vessel is coming via the Panama Canal, hut she will not come to Lyttelton. Auckland and Wellington will he the only New ealand ports visited, and thence the Westward Ho will go across to Australia to complete discharge. The transhipments brought from Sydney by the Manuka, which arrived at Lyttelton at 5 a.m. to-day, were ex Sonoma, Chang-Sha, and Oolobaria.

The Wakatu left Kaikoufa for Stoneyhurst this morning, and probably will reach Lyttelton this evening.

A steamer-named the St. Bede, 4940 tons, has been chartered to load wool and general cargo at New Zealand ports for the United ingdom. Private advices received at Wellington state that the C. and D. steamers Niwaru and Mimiro, en route from New York to Australian and New Zealand ports, left Gape Town on November 29 and November 30 respectively. Word lias been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Ruahine, bound from Wellington to London, has arrived at Teneriffe.

From New York, via way ports, the steamer Star of New Zealand arrived at Lyttelton yesterday. She will probably leave tomorrow for Duncdin to finish unloading there. The C. and D. Liner Indrapura was expected 'to leave Sydney yesterday for Auckland, Napier, and Wellington, in continuation of her voyage from London. She is due at Wellington about December 23.
