LONDON WOOL SALES. By Cable.—Press Association.——Copyright. (Received December 9, 11 a.m.) LONDON, December 8. At -Buxton's wool sale, 9538 bales were offered. .There was an excellent attendance. Except for few New Zealand slipes and scoured, for which there was animated competition, late / rates prevailed. The catalogues were almost entirely composed of merinos, for which competition was very weak. There are plenty of American orders on the market, but they cannot be executed, because of insufficient t ■ information with regard to the guarantees required. Sir George Reid circulated an' announcement that any reasonable guarantees would be accepted, but this was not considered to be sufficiently definite - to justify operations. ' Some traders declare that the best solution of the difficulty would be for the Government to declare wool contraband of war. Shafty combing declined 10 - per cent., and short, faulty parcels from 15 to 25 per cent. DUKEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. ' Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 9. Sale—Junctions 23/6.
