After her splendid gallop over a mile I and a half at Riccarton on Saturday morning, Warstep has come into' increased favour for the Auckland Cup, in which she will be ridden by C. Emerson.

E. McDermott lias effected a great improvement in Lady Alma, since having her in his stable. In her second race at Hororata on Saturday she covered the two miles in smin and was only defeated by half a length. When competing in the Glendore Trot at Hororata on Saturday, Winnipeg crossed her legs and came down. Her driver, T. Fox, escaped with a .few bruises, and Winnipeg was but littlo the worse for the mishap.

Boycott can muster up a fair turn of speed, but is unreliable. In the. Snowdon Trot at Hororata on Saturday lie started well, and not being pressed till within a furlong of the post he reeled off the two miles without a single mistake. _ TEMPLAR.
