THE CITIZEN ARMY.

LOYAL POSTMEN. It has sometimes been suggested that oiiicers of the Civil Service are laggards in regard to military affairs, but the postal men in Christchurch are now fallin"- into line with their compatriots in the Citizens' Army and forming a unit of the National Reserve. Over fifty members of the local Chief Post Office staff have signed on as willing to too the mark, and are to start drill next week.

An enthusiastic few are interesting themselves in the movement here, and before long, it is hoped, there will be no postal man -who is hot doing something, no matter how little, to his own credit, and towards the defence of his home, his flag, and his country.
