CRICKET.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Managing Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held last evening. Present: Messrs A. Cant (chairman), E. R. Caygill, W. Simpson, W. H. Winsor, T. W. Eeese, R. B. Ward, W. L. King, E. Willsteed, and E. E. GrawshaAV (secretary. The sub-committee which had-been deputed to wait on the Board of Control of Lancaster Park with regard to the withdrawal of free passes for ladies and representative players, reported that it had been convinced by the board that the latter was in the right. Tlie association, hoAvever, could provide players with these passes at a small fee. Messrs Simpson and King, Avho had been appointed a sub-committee to enquire into the question whether a team of junior players who.would pay their own expenses could be obtained to go to Dunedin to play the Otago junior representatives, reported that such a team could be obtained,"but so far it was ( not absolutely representative. It Avas, however, a. very fair team. —The committee decided to communicate with the Otago Association with regard to arranging such a match for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
