In the Assembly the Speaker resumed the chair, and an Opposition • member moved a motion of want of confidence in the Government. The motion was eventually rejected, the voting being: For ,- ~ .26 Against ... .. .. .. 35 Government majority .. 9 [A message published in The Sun on Saturday stated that the Queensland Assembly carried the Treasurer's motion, dissenting from the Speaker's ruliug against the insertion of au amendment to the Co-operative Sugar Company's Bill. The Speaker thereupon left the House and the Leader of the Opposition gave notice of a want-of-confidence motion.]
