Mr M. A. Scott, of Wellington, is a guest at the Clarendon Hotel.
Mr J. S. Wearn returned to Christchurch by the second express last night. Messrs W. J. More, of Sheffield, and H.'J. Duggan, of Melbourne, are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mr J. W. Collins, chief clerk of the Department of Labour, is visiting Christchurch on departmental business.
Captain J. Bone, marine superintendent for the New Zealand Shipping Company, left for the north last evening.
Visitors to Christchurch staying at Warner's Hotel include Messrs E. E. Gahagan (Auckland), N. Warren (Sydney), and M. Osborne (Sydney). Colonel R. J. Collins, Auditor-General, who has been visiting Christchurch: for a few days, left for Greymouth to-day. On Tuesday he will return to town, and leave in the evening for Wellington. Mr Claude Hamilton Seymour, dentist, died yesterday at his residence in Eendalton. Mr Seymour-was 35 years old. He was a son.of Mr S. B. Seymour, who established the firm of Seymour " and Sons, dentists, in Christchurch in 1869. Deceased was a wellknown golfer. He leaves a widow and one child.
The Eevs. S. Farraghar, G. A. Kelly, J. Duffy, F. Forristal, D. O'Brien, and W. Dunphy arrived in Auckland by the Riverina from Sydney on Monday. They are all from Wexford, Ireland, and are to be attached to the Auckland diocese of the Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. 6. Farraghar was trained at the famous Louvain University, which has since been destroyed by the Germans.
