Lord Kitchener in the House of Lords, emphasised the fact that the Germans had not made any advance since he last addressed the House. The arrival of the Indians had been of the greatest assistance. Our losses naturally were heavy, but were slight as compared with those of the enemy.
We are in touch with the Turkish forces thirty miles east of the Suez Canal. r Thirty thousand recruits are enrolling weekly, besides regiments which were being formed locally. He advances the thesis that if Germany cripples the British Navy, invasion of Canada through Now England will be -cjuite conceivable. American neutrality need prove no obstacle, as the Germans - found no difficulty in dealing with it in " Belgium 's case.
