LONDON, November 26
A meeting of the leading fruitbrokers and merchants discussed the market prospects of Australian fruit, and expressed the unanimous opinion that the British markets would be able to absorb the usual quantity of Australian fruit during the coming season at fair prices.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, November 26. At the wool sales, the absence of Japanese competition was keenly felt. Best crossbrods made late rates, medium merinos were easier, and faulty sorts met no demand. Greasy sold up to 12$ d, and scoured to 19Jd.
AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE MARKETS SYDNEY, November 26. Oats—Algerian feed 3/7, milling 3/8; Tasmanian 3/8 to 3/9. Barley—Cake feed 4/-, English 4/6. Maize—3/11 to 4/-. Potatoes —New Zealand £4 10/to £6. Onions—Victoria £9 to £9 10/-. Butter —Selected 104/-, seconds 94/- to 98/-. Cheese—6d. Bacon—9d. ADELAIDE, November 26. Wheat—s/4*. Flour—£ll 5/-. Bran and pollard—£B 10/-. MELBOURNE, November 26.
Hides—There were small catalogues and excellent competition. Prices were very firm.
