COUNTRY NEWS.

(From Our Special Correspondents.) BANKS PENINSULA. A very pleasing ceremony took place at the conclusion of the church service on Sunday afternoon at the Eobinson Bay Schoolroom. At the invitation of the church people and friends HXv Frank Armstrong, of Mount Vernon, was present with his wife and Mr G. Armstrong. Mr W. W. Williams, on behalf of those present, presented Mr Armstrong with a case of solid silver spoons as a wedding gift, and spoke of the feeling of affection with whieh Mr Armstrong was held by the people of the Bay, "and of the good work he had done as one of the lay readers of the church. Mr Armstrong, who was quite taken by surprise, thanked Mr Williams for his very kind words and the beautiful present. After the presentation the party adjourned to the residence of Mr and Mrs Williams, where afternoon tea was provided.
