WOOLSTQN UNIT.
With the object of forming a branch of the Citizens' Defence Corps in Woolston a. meeting was held in the Woolston Borough Council Chambers last night, the Mayor (Mr J. J. Graham) presiding. Mr S. Hardey, of the city branch, said that the system was a purely voluntary one, arising from the general feeling that something should be done for home defence. Contingents were being sent away, and it behoved the men remaining to prepare to defend their hearths and homes if occasion should arise. It was decided to form a unit for Woolston, Mr G. Scott being elected secretary pro torn, aiul it was resolved that the meeting should request all St. John Ambulance nurses residing in Woolston to enrol in the ambulance section of the Woolston unit.
