MEETING OF WOMEN'S COMMITTEE.
| A meeting of the Women's Commit-j | tee in connection with the above was i held in the Council Chambers yester- j day afternoon, the Mayoress, Mrs if. j Holland, being in the chair, i Miss Rolleston reported that a series i of plays and concerts were being ar-i ranged in aid of the fnud, and would' take place, preferably, in St. Michael's j j Schoolroom, about the middle of De-j cember. It was decided that the ar- ; trangements be left in Miss Rolleston's ! hands. With regard to the proposal j that school children slionld assist in selling flowers in the streets on Rose Carnival Day, it was reported that | most of the city schools had promised j their help. The c'o.mmittee expressed a desire that publicity should be given to the fact that donations of flowers for ; sale purposes would be very welcome. Notice was received from Mrs Neville and Mrs Barber (Sumner) that they would donate flowers for this purpose, and it was resolved to" approach the Do- 1 mains gardener, Mr Young, to see if he could supply the committee with any ; flowers. - j
