BATTLE IN THE DARK.

GERMAN ADMIRAL'S STORY. THE MONMOUTH'S GALLANT END. VALPARAISO, November 6. Admiral Von Spec, commander of the German squadron, states that the fight near Sant Maria lasted for an hour in the dark. The Good Hope fled, and an explosion was seen between her funnels. It is supposed that the Glasgow suffered small damage, and escaped in the darkness. It was impossible to assist the Monmouth's crew owing to the storm. While she was sinking the Monmouth tried to ram the enemy.
