HUNTLY RELIEF FUND.
MEETING- OF WOMEN. A meeting in connection with the above was held in the Mayor's room of the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon, Mrs Holland in the chair. Mr Gilby .reported that the concert lecture given by Professor Gabbatt and Miss Millicent Jennings had resulted in a net profit cf £l3 3/6, which was regarded as very satisfactory. A letter was . read from the Kose Carnival Committee, stating that 25 per cent, of the proceeds Would be devoted to the Huntly fund, and asking tihe cooperation of the women's committee. On the motion of "Mrs T.' E. seconded by Mrs Fountain/it was resoly: ed that the latter offer their services in any capacity required. f Regarding the children's floral; fete, it was reported that nothing further had been' done in the matter. It' was resolved to write to the headmasters and "headmistresses,. giving particulars of the way in. which it \ was proposed that the children would be ; employed, in order td, remove any misapprehension that migfrt exist on the subject. >;l =. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward arrived from Wellington this morning, and are staying with .Mr and Mrs Cyril Ward, Meriyale Lane. They attended, the Cup meeting . to-day, and will probably go south on Monday.
