THE TROTTING CUP CANDIDATES.

KING COLE. Connoisseurs will probably award King Cole the palm in the matter of looks amongst the New Zealand Trotting Cup field. He is certainly one of the finest-looking stallions ever raced in the Dominion, and since baing trained by the American mentor James Conway, has got through a fairly solid preparation. Unfortunately, he is none too sound, and can hardly be at his best for next month's contest. His best public performances are:— 1911—Won King George Handicap at Addington. Time, 4min 38sec. 1911—Won National Cup at Addington. Time, 4min Slsec. 1912—Took mile record against time of 2min 8 3-ssec (an Australasian record).

WIN SOON. Win SOon is trained by A. Pringle at Ashburton, and ever since the declaration of handicaps has ruled as favourite for tha ffrotting Cup. As a four-year-old the daughter of King Child and Topsy won both of* her races and showed a remarkable turn of speed in each of her engagements last season. Her chief achievements are:—■ 1914—Won Lyttelton Handicap at Addington. Time, 4min 38 2-ssec. 1914—Third August Handicap at Addington. Time, 4min 37 l-ssec. Win Soon will be driven by A. Pringle.
