THE TIMARU-CHRISTCHURCH ROAD RACE.
To the Editor of THE SVN. Sir, —Will you kindly allow me space in your paper to contradict a statement of the 25th inst., in which you state that I received motor pace in the Timaru-to-Christchurch road race on October 24, 1914? If the originator of this false statement can prove same to be true I will donate £2O to the Public Hospital, and if he is a man let him do the same or hold his peace.—l am, etc., PHIL O'SHEA. '_ 91 Tennyson Street, Sydenham. [The Sun did not state that Mr O'Shea had been motor-paced. It published a paragraph on Monday to the effect that it was reported that a protest had been lodged against the rider who made the fastest time. Further enquiries went to show that the rumour was incorrect, and it was contradicted in The Sun last evening.]
