Lang, well-known as a skipper of the Federal-Shire Line, and at one time master of the Rippingham Grange, died in England last July. In consequence of the Labour Day celebrations at Auckland on Monday, the Hud-dart-Parker steamer Riverina will not arrive at that port from Sydney till Monday, instead of Sunday, as usual. She will leave Auckland for Sydney on the return trip on Tuesday afternoon. . Last evening the Union Company's Katoa reached Lyttelton from Newcastle with a full load of coal. The Katoa left "VVestport some time ago under sealed order, and she still.retains her covering of grey paint. Her movements after completing discharge at Lyttelton are not ascertainable. * This morning the Union Company's intercolonial steamer Moeraki arrived at Lyttelton from Sydney, via, Wellington. Her trip across from the New South Wales port was made in fine weather with moderate to strong head winds and seas. Included in her cargo were transhipments ex the steamers Osterley, Katoomba, Gracchus, Paloona, Inoba Maru, and Hellenic, the principal lines being: —155 bales gunnies, 2 quarter casks and 2 hogsheads wine, 1 case brandy, 774 packages tea, 40 cases glycerine, 40 cases tablet sugar, 10 cases icing sugar, 166 bags rice, 100 bags ricemeal, 15 cases macaroni, 1 crate macaroni, 5 cases vermicelli, 5 bags almonds, 1 case essence, 18 bags coffee, 75 cases preserves, 55 cases, canned spirit, 487 cases fruit, and a quantity of fruit, kapoc, rubber goods, electroplate, and sundries. The Moeraki sails for Wellington to-night, leaving that port to-morrow for Sydney and Hobart.
